Module 01 · Lesson 03 · Prepare for Test Day Exam day

Prepare for Test Day

Your exam day playbook - prepare calmly and manage your time. Exam outcomes depend on your knowledge and preparation.

You've picked the right exam and studied smart. Exam day is now a performance problem, not a knowledge problem. This lesson covers the last 48 hours before your test, the exact hour-of playbook, and what happens (nothing scary) if you don't pass on the first attempt.

What you'll walk away with

  • Enter the test centre calm and prepared
  • Pace every question with a proven timing rule
  • Handle tough questions without panicking
  • Review refund eligibility if you do not pass
01

The final 48 hours

Do not learn new material. Your job is now recall, not intake. Sleep 8 hours both nights. Do one final simulator run 36 hours out, then review only your flagged questions the day before. Prep your ID, confirmation email, and route to the test centre the night before - remove every avoidable stressor.

  • No new topics in the last 48 hours
  • Confirm ID matches your booking name exactly
  • Arrive 30 minutes early to settle nerves
02

The 90-second timing rule

Divide total exam time by number of questions. That's your per-question budget - for most associate exams it's roughly 90 seconds. If a question is taking longer, flag it and move on. Come back at the end. You'll almost always answer flagged questions faster on second pass with fresh eyes.

  • Never spend more than 2x your budget on one question
  • Flag and skip - don't stall
  • Save the last 15% of your time for flagged review
03

How to break down tough questions

Read the last sentence first - it's usually the actual question. Then read the answers to see what the exam is testing. Then read the scenario with those answers in mind. Eliminate obviously wrong options before choosing. On 'best answer' questions, look for the option that solves the problem with the least assumption.
